Louise never thought she’d be the sort of woman to have an affair. She’s a good wife, a good mother and a good daughter – even if she is far from happy.
But everything changes when Louise crosses paths with Oscar, a man fifteen years her junior. She knows what they’re doing is wrong, but she just can’t stop…
When odd messages begin to arrive, it seems clear that someone has been watching Louise, and that they know her secret.
They don’t just want Louise to stop her affair with Oscar though – they want much more.
And they will stop at nothing to get it.

I couldn't put it down - a gripping read from start to finish and kept me guessing until the end. A compulsive and complex tale of the toxic effects of revenge
Mind blown! The end was a triumph, absolutely brilliant!
Praise for Zoe Lea's debut, The Secretary:
Tense and unputdownable . . . gets its claws in you and doesn't let go. An edge-of-your-seat thriller with twist after twist you won't see coming, this book is a must-read for anyone who loves to be kept guessing
Gripping and powerful! The tension in the novel was cranked up notch by notch until I was gasping as the story unravelled . . . A fantastic read!
I absolutely flew through it. It was so good, I was immediately invested in Louise's story. I thought it was brilliant and I loved the ending

Must read
Closer Than She Thinks is that rare thing: totally gripping and thoroughly relatable. This addictive thriller sucked me into Louise's life and held me there until the dramatic ending. I absolutely loved it!
OMG this book is so tense! I couldn't stop reading! I loved how real it felt. A middle-aged woman at a difficult point in her life, struggling with the challenges of an ageing mother, a son leaving home and a marriage in trouble. And all that woven so tightly within a tense and foreboding thriller!
