Meditating on scripture can take many different forms. One wonderful way of doing it is through colouring: the patient task of bringing the page to life through colour can embed the text deep in our hearts, bringing us into the presence of God in a new and profound way.
A collection of drawings that are ripe for those colouring pens.. It is the perfect way to engage meditatively with scripture.
Stu McLellan's illustrations are spectacular...his mark making is alive with movement... I would have no hesitation in recommending this book and the experience it encourages.
Feature on colouring as an activity for adults
'Our favourites are 'The Heavens and the Earth by Stu McLellan and Patterns in the Psalms by James Newman Gray.'
Stu McLellan's colouring book has a variety of landscapes, portraitures, close detail and broad strokes. It's been a revelation in those moments when I have found time to sit, reflect and listen.
What he provides are ink sketches with lots of white space, which will enable colourists to work as they please. This is not painting by numbers by any means, it calls for selection and attention to the image at hand.
Artist and illustrator Stu Mclellan has found inspiration where the Bible meets everyday life.
