But their holiday soon turns into a dark and strange adventure when Pippa realises that malevolent forces are lurking in the trees – forces that watch, wait, and mean them great harm.

Why are twig-woven figures appearing all over the cottage? And why does their grandfather seem so afraid all the time? What secrets linger in Whispering Hollow? And will Pippa be able to rekindle her friendship with her brother?

This is a perfect read for middle grade readers (and adults obvs) who love a bit of a creepy story. Full of folklore and an interesting sibling dynamic, this story is simply wonderful.

Such a brilliant story, eerie and atmospheric and full of adventure! I am new to reading middle grade fiction but I'm loving how magical it is... this is definitely one of my favourites!

When I think about how many Neolithic stones with holes in that I've dabbled in and through over the course of my life so far then it's a wonder that I'm alive but I will think twice about even touching one again after reading this book! Genuinely terrifying fairy/horror story that will stay with me for a long time. Beautifully written and memorable characters (both heroes and monsters). Very highly recommended for those not of a nervous disposition!
Whispering Hollow is the perfect book for snuggling down under a blanket on a cool autumn evening while the wind whistles through the trees.
