JoAnna has been a science communicator ever since she wrote an essay in 5th grade about giraffes. Now she works as a cartoonist, writer, and editor, doing her best to spread the joy and excitement of scientific pursuit. Throughout her career she has reported, edited, and/or made comics for Gizmodo, Knowable Magazine, The American Scientist, the American Geophysical Union, and NASA’s Planetary Science Division. When she’s not talking, writing, or drawing cartoons about science, she’s either in a forest, dipping her toes in a creek, or hanging out with her cat, Pancake and cornsnake, Banana.
