Alan Davies started his working life as a stand-up comic but is best known for his TV roles including: Jonathan Creek, as a creator of magic tricks and amateur sleuth; The Brief, where he plays a barrister with a betting addiction; QI, BBC2’s comedy panel game hosted by Stephen Fry; and from his Abbey National adverts of a few years ago.
